God’s Wonderful Grace

“God is able to make all grace abound in you, so that in all thing sat all times, having all you need you will abound in every good work.”- 2 Corinthians 9:8

Grace saves us!  Grace sustains us!

It equips us and provides us with courage, wisdom and strength to face life’s deepest challenges.

“If only I touch his cloak, I will be healed”, she thought as she strained to reach through the crowd of people.

Matthew tells her story...she had been bleeding for twelve years.

By the time Jesus appears with the crowd his reputation had grown and people everywhere were crowding around him, all wanting the same thing...to be healed.

She was no different other than her faith.

She believed that Jesus was her only way out.

She had nothing left.  She was spent.  No hope beyond a dream, and no prospects on the horizon.  Doctor after doctor gave her bad news.

So at the end of her rope, she fought through the crowds believing beyond her limited knowledge that Jesus could make a difference.

When her hand touched his garment, something miraculous did happen.

Jesus turned and saw her.

“Daughter, be encouraged!  Your faith has made you well.”

It didn’t bother Jesus that she came to him as a last resort.

What mattered was she came in faith.

Matthew tells another story, one of workers in the field.

The master hired some workers bright and early one morning and promised to pay them a certain wage.  By noon he hired still more workers, and in early afternoon still more.  By evening as the shadows of the day were getting long the master was still adding workers to the field...yet he agreed to pay them all the same wage.  Those who labored the longest objected.  It isn’t fair they claimed.

The master replied, “Should you be jealous because I am kind to others?”

God’s wonderful grace exhibited in two entirely different pictures.

Never-the-less, they both describe God’s grace.

One granted to an unknown stranger; the other given to an ungrateful individual.

God does not give us what we deserve!

To whom does God offer his gift of grace?

The brightest?  The popular?  The rich?  The popular?  No.

His gift is for all God’s children...and they all get the same gift...regardless of when they accept it.

Of all God’s wonderful works...grace is the misunderstood and the most needed!

Do you understand God’s grace?

Does your life reflect His grace?

May God’s grace transform you...and give you hope and a future!

“You gave me life and showed me your unfailing love.   My life was preserved by your care.”

Job 10:12
